With a camera-like perspective to painting, the artist roleplays a mechanical object ‘the camera’ and so the living world is experienced as a frozen image, mathematical, regular, orderly, still and balanced. This is my standing point. De Font-Réaulx director of the louvre Paris quotes, “Photography gave rise to a new relationship to reality and its representation, which then boomeranged on its elder sister – painting.”
Moods and ideas are constructed by connecting focus points just like in a digital camera. Lines are formed between those points. In my paintings I use lines to connect the camera back to painting. My lines can be straight, wavy or angular, it can be playful, soft, dashed or dotted. You can describe life by connecting focus points and describe a story with it. A line is like life, it begins and ends and everything in between fits.
